Be Mindful of Your Transactions and Financial Activity

Scammers are always trying to take advantage of your information and money. With our tips, you can help stop personal information from falling into the wrong hands.

Gift Card Scam Alert: Scammers are posing as Climb Credit Union, claiming there's an account issue and asking you to buy gift cards. These fraudsters may try to pressure you, claiming it's urgent to resolve your account by purchasing gift cards. Climb will never ask you to purchase gift cards. If you receive any suspicious messages or calls requesting gift cards or sensitive banking details, hang up and don't respond. Instead, call us right away.

Card Locked Scam Alert: Members have reported receiving a text from fraudsters attempting to impersonate Climb Credit Union. The text says a card is locked and provides a phone number to call. Do not call an unrecognized number. Always call Climb directly at 303.427.5005 for assistance. If you have received a text like this, please also notify us immediately. Remember, Climb will never ask for your password, personal identification number (PIN), or log-in verification code.

Block Scam Alert: Members have reported receiving texts from fraudsters stating there's a block on their card. The scammers provide a phone number to call and proceed to ask for banking details and credit/debit card information to unblock the card. Remember, Climb will never ask for your online banking username, password, or verification code.

Impersonating Climb: Telephone scammers are “spoofing” a familiar looking phone number, like a number close to Climb's number. The scammer will ask you to verify your transaction history. During the call, they will ask for your card number, account number and PIN. Then they use the information to commit fraud. Remember, Climb will never ask for your PIN. Hang up and call the number on the back of your debit or credit card to verify the caller.

Climb Credit Union will NEVER ask for your password, online banking credentials, one-time secure access code, full card number, or PIN. If you suspect you have been a victim of fraud, please call us directly at 303.427.5005 immediately so we can help.
